Why do men cheat on their wives with someone extremely unattractive?

That’s why a lot of men cheat, I think: because what he’s missing from his life is a sympathetic ear and enjoyable sex. Being beautiful on its own simply does not do either of those things for a husband, whereas it’s entirely possible for an ugly woman to do both of those things.
So I’m not really impressed by this common idea that women seem to have that cheating only makes sense if the girl a guy cheats with is at least as hot as if not hotter than you. A much better reason to cheat on a beautiful spouse is if she’s a frigid bitch, and the woman he cheats with is nice to him and sucks his dick well.
Oh, and those other guys who want to steal your beautiful girlfriend? They’re the only ones who give a shit if your girlfriend is hot. Your family and your friends (at least, your real friends who wouldn’t screw you over) only care if your girlfriend treats you well, and that has nothing to do with her looks.

Here’s the deal: it’s a pain in the ass to try to court a beautiful woman. You gotta pay for dates, dress up, think of clever presents, fend off the guys who try to sneak their way into your position, all so that after maybe a month or two of faithful dating and first or second base you can find out that…she’s never really had to try in the bedroom.
Because they wanted to get laid.
As a bit of a side note, but I think it’s important for women to hear this too: if I could go back in time and intervene in some of my own romantic choices, I would remind myself that what really matters in a significant other is their capacity to provide emotional support and how fun sex with them is. Doesn’t matter if I’m with a ten or a four, if they don’t make me happy in the ways that are specifically delegated to a significant other, I shouldn’t marry them. Those aren’t the only valuable traits in a significant other, but they are the most valuable traits in a significant other.
